Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a singer who plays back also known as an actress, musician and playback singer. She is primarily musician and performer for Tamil and Malayalam language films. Her acting debut was in the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam and Malayalam debut with Annayum's Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in an Anglo-Indian home at Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea's father was a Madras High Court lawyer. Her younger sister is an Belgian research assistant that is employed in Leuven. Jeremiah was raised in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. She's said she was an avid geek and wanted to be psychiatrist once she had completed her 12th board exams.Andrea was a classical pianist when she was eight. By the age of 10, she was a part of a band called Jackson Five Young Stars which formed the base of her early recording and composing music career. Also, she was a theatre performer in the college she attended and appeared in several productions staged in collaboration with The Madras Players and EVAM. She was also head of Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea started her career acting in the theatre, with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. In 2006 she played in an advertisement from Leo alongside actor Shiva. She also starred in a TV serial that was aired on Podhigai. She has performed on stage in India. She played a minor role in the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). After performing a number of songs in Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu he asked her to play in the role of a lead female characters in his upcoming venture Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed. The film features Andrea as Kalyani the wife of a homemaker who gets involved in an affair, and then is threatened with blackmail. Andrea was picked for the role after actors Simran Shabana as well as Tabu were sought out. The film premiered in the beginning of 2010. In the beginning of 2010, she was cast in a minor role in Venkat's Mankatha in the year 2011, which was a film that featured several actors. In 2013, she made her debut in Malayalam film by appearing in Rajeeev's love story Annayum Rasoolum.
